Exemption of the Annual Membership Dues for Those Affected by the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake

We express our deepest sorrow for those who suffered from the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake.

The Board of the Linguistic Society of Japan has determined that the annual membership dues for 2024 are exempted from those members who have suffered from this earthquake.

The application will be accepted regardless of the current address of the member, AS LONG AS some proof of the damage by the disaster is provided. This policy applies to new members who plan to start their membership as of the fiscal year 2024.

This is for students and graduate students who have applied for the “Emergency Student Support Handout for Continuing Students” offered by the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO). Those who join this year will also be exempted from the membership fee for the year 2023.

Annual membership dues are as follows.

  • Student members:JPY4,000
  • Regular members: JPY7,000
  • Sustaining members: JPY10,000
  • Supporting members: JPY10,000

Bank transfer is the preferred method of payment. Please contact the LSJ Office for the detail of the account information of the LSJ.
